Retiree Health Care Plans and Medical ID Cards
There are three health care plans in Wisconsin for retirees, surviving spouses, and eligible dependents under the UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust, also known as VEBA.
1. Humana Traditional Care Network – PPO Plan. Prior to the VEBA this plan was known as the Standard Care Network – PPO Plan. Your most recent Humana medical ID card should look like this, if you are enrolled in the Humana Traditional Care Network Plan.
2. Humana Preferred (BHCG) – PPO Plan. The name of this plan remains the same as before VEBA. Your most recent Humana medical ID card should look like this, if you are enrolled in the Humana Preferred (BHCG) PPO Plan.
3. Humana Medicare (Employer Regional PPO) Plan.
Also reerred to as Humana Medicare Advantage Plan.
This is a new insurance plan that was introduced with the advent of the VEBA. Retirees living in Wisconsin and Illinois, who were enrolled in Humana and were on Medicare on December 31, 2010, were defaulted into this plan effective January 1, 2010. Your most recent Humana medical ID card should look like this, if you are enrolled in the Humana Medicare (Employer Regional PPO) Plan.
